Best-selling Chicken Soup books author, Kimberly Kirberger, has figured out what teenagers want. Kirberger, mom to 15-year-old Jessie, has sold 12 million copies of her books for and about young people. She says, I love teens and their world. They have such a mix of innocence and passion.
Kirberger enjoys listening to her own son and other teens, and getting their stories in print. Her new book Chicken Soup Letters (Editors note: please link to Amazon) is composed of 100 letters that teens and their parents have written to her.
She receives piles of letters from readers and some are heartbreaking. Sometimes teens write things like, I dont know why Im telling you this, but I cut myself, or I have an eating disorder and dont know what to do, she says. Kirberger dislikes that shes not allowed to respond to letters personally, but she consults with teens on her panel. These teenagers understand where their peers are coming from and write empathetic replies. The reply letters include information on getting help.

More than just teaching lessons of survival and success, Chicken Soup for the Teenage Soul II offers guidance, support, encouragement, and, most of all, love, through 101 stories that show the importance of family, self-respect, dreams, and life.
Co-author Kimberly Kirberger says, After enjoying the success of the first Chicken Soup for the Teenage Soul book we knew it would be a huge challange to make the second one as good. Because of our strong desire to please and thank our devoted teenage audience we worked twice as hard on this edition. We were really excited to be able to include many more stories written by teenagers in this one and also to be able to have more stories in the categories they said were their favorites. We are extremely grateful that this book is being received with the same enthusiasm as the first.

The third volume in the Chicken Soup for the Teenage Soul series gives more love, support and inspiration for the series "loyal teen readers". More and more, life is a struggle for teens. Not just dealing with the tragedies that seem to plague them so often, but also handling the daily pressures that pervade their lives. This book, like the first two volumes in the series, will help them, and will serve as their guide and constant companion.
Chapters focus on love, friendship, family, tough stuff, growing up, kindness, learning lessons and making a difference. In keeping with the themes and content of the Chicken Soup for the Teenage Soul series, teens will also find support, encouragement and understanding from their peers, as well as from caring and compassionate adults.
