Trail Magic is based on a journal the author kept during her thru-hike of the Appalachian Trail in the spring and summer of 1997. In this delightful book, the reader learns about the pain of blisters, sore knees, the beauty of sunsets, cold snow, hot and humid days, blueberry pancakes, Ramen noodles, pizza, the support of friends, the pain of separation from those we love, the motivation and support that come from knowing someone you love will be waiting for you up the trail.
The reader will appreciate the joy and satisfaction the author experiences after having walked in good weather and bad, on sunny days and rainy days, up steep mountains and down gentle woodland paths for more than 2,000 miles from Georgia to the top of Mount Katahdin, Baxter State Park, Maine.
