Michael Whitman, executive producer, has been involved in traditional music since 1959. The Before Their Time memorial album project was inspired by his love of good songs and a desire to provide for others the kind of comfort he found in music following the death of his oldest son in 1994. Whitman lives in Lyme NH, where he manages translation projects for an international high-tech manufacturer, writes for a variety of publications, and has a small woodworking business.
